The long awaited “Lil Boat 2” released last night at midnight. Lil Yachty dropped the official tracklist for the album on Instagram Monday night. Many artists are featured — big names like 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Quavo and Offset, Lil Pump, Ugly God, and NBA Youngboy.

Review:

Lil Boat 2 serves as the rapper’s sophomore album and marks his first full-length since 2017’s Teenage Emotions. That  LP received an a terrible response and had only moved about 46,000 units in its first week, but I myself like the album. Here’s my initial review of Lil Boat 2.

Strongest Points:

I love the production on this album. It included 30 Roc, Buddah Bless, Charlie Shuffler,Digital Nas, DJ Durel, DY, Earl the Pearl, Jabz, Pi’erre Bourne, Polo Boy Shawty, Southside, Steve Lean.

The artist featured on this album made the album for me –especially tracks that included Ugly God, 2 Chainz & K$upreme, Quavo (I’m totally biased), Offset & Lil Baby –even NBA Youngboy surprised me (because I’ve never heard him rap until this album).

My Favorite Songs:“Boom!,” “Oops,” “Get Money Bros.”

Weakest Points: Weakest songs on the album are his solo songs. Yachty to me didn’t go as hard with his lyrics -he said nothing new, and there were no “witty lines” in this album as he did with Teenage Emotions.

My Least Favorite Songs:“She Ready,” “Love Me Forever,” “FWM”

Overall despite other review, I don’t think the whole album is trash. He was smart to add big name features and his contemporaries to this project. Lil Boat served his young fans what they wanted – modern energetic trap music.
