“Who Run It” Freestyle Challenge: No Signs of Slowing Down, Revisiting Memphis Hip-Hop.

In 2000, Three-Six Mafia dropped a song with one of the hardest beats in Hip-Hop. “The song’s unique riff always sounds a little unresolved, like the groove is going to go right when it goes left, and it has a forward momentum unmatched by any other Three 6 anthem.”

The “Who Run It” Freestyle challenge starts out with G. Herbo doing a freestyle on radio station K 104. The response to it was positive, -even Drake suggested him finish a full song, so he linked up with Laka Films for a full video and song.

48 hours later, ASAP Rocky jumped on the classic hip-hop record.

Then a collaborative freestyle with Trippie Red & Lil Yatchy

So far, the last contender to take on the beat was 21 Savage, releasing his freestlye yesterday -even having the single cover to resemble Three-Six Mafia’s album art.
