The Big Pun x Ewing 33 Hi Sneakers Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Debut Album

The Big Pun x Ewing 33 Hi will launch April 28th during an in-store event a BX Sports, where Big Pun himself used to shop for sneakers.

April 28, 1998 –Big Pun dropped his debut album Capital Punishment. Singles like “I’m Not a Player” and “Still Not a Player”  made first this solo hip-hop record by a Latin artist to go platinum. The album was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 1999 Grammy’s.

With Capital Punishment’s 20th Anniversary approaching, the Rios family teamed up with Ewing Athletics to release a special Big Pun edition of the 33 Hi.The vibrantly colored high-top pulls its scheme from the album’s artwork and features Big Pun logos on the tongues. Pun’s widow Liza designed the shoe with help from rapper and fellow Ewing collaborator Cormega.
