According to Fader, the new division comes after many film and television projects were developed through Roc Nation: Spike TV’s (now Paramount Network) Time: The Kalief Browder Story won a Peabody, while Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Both of these projects were produced by JAY-Z.
“Roc Nation is such an influential and dynamic company,” Reardon told Variety. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them as they expand their brand into television.
Patrick Reardon, who previously served executive VP and co-head of Weinstein Company’s TV department, will lead the division. His job will be to focus on creating both scripted and unscripted content for the new endeavor.
